We asked popular fashion blogger Mary Seng to share with us her top fall fashion trends. She is 24, lives in Nashville, and is married to her best friend Luke. She has a passion for fashion and can be found sharing her effortless style on her blog, Happily Grey.

From leather as the new fabric of choice to burgundy taking center stage as the new black, Fall/Winter 2012 is greeting us with several new trends that will be hard to resist! I’ve narrowed it down to four major trends this season has to offer and included the “where to buys” so you can easily achieve the look too. Hope you love these trends as much as I do!

Fall is finally here and so is Leather! This season, leather is covering more than just your jackets, bags and boots. You can expect to see tons of leather detailing on sleeves, collars, trim, and don’t forget the leather shift and pencil skirt! I have to say, I’m pretty excited for the new fabric of choice (check out my latest leather purchase here)! These are my top Leather pics: Forever 21, NordstromPiperlimeAnn Taylor, Nordstrom (great color!), Nordstrom, Piperlime.

It’s time to set aside your neons and pastels of spring and summer. The new “it” color is the rich burgundy. From dresses, to coats, shirts, bags, and pants, we are seeing it styled out everywhere. No worries if you a few shades off—rusk reds, oxfords, and deep purples all still play to the trend. Not only can this color stand alone head to toe, burgundy also pairs nicely with black to create a classic or edgy look. Here are the lush reds that caught my attention: ASOS, NordstromASOS, PiperlimeASOS.

This fall essential ranks pretty high on my list. The ankle boot has become the ultimate fall hybrid ranging from dramatic, feminine heels to edgy, studded and buckled throw-ons. Whether their paired with denim (skinny or flare), dresses, or shorts and tights, it works with nearly everything (see here and here for how I styled my ankle boots). I have poured through several sites and stores and have come up with my top booties. From eternal classics to rocker-chic, here are my top 10 picks: Deena & OzzyDolce VitaAnthropologieAldoSam EdelmanSteve MaddenDolce VitaSteve Madden ZanderrAnthropologie.

Yep that’s right, every rule book forbidding the mixing of black and blue can now be obsolete. It appears the new duo will be a strong force this fall. Whether you choose an eccentric cobalt or deep navy, both compliment black so nicely. You can easily transition the colors through scarfs, collared necklaces, hats, or black on blue tops and coats. My favorite is mixing a deep navy denim with leather…covering two trends in one look! Try these: Nordstrom, PiperlimePiperlimePiperlime.
