Decisions

Life is a series of decisions
Choices,
Free-willed creatures saying yes
Or no
Resolutions, considerations, we are
Not immune
To the hardship of hope
Not yet knowing the future
Yet knowing the future is held

Decisions can be hard
or perhaps they’re like eggs:
Soft,
Sunny-side up,
Scrambled,
Rotten,
Over easy,
Poached,
Baked,
Hard-boiled,
So many ways to make something,
Different paths with one ingredient

Perhaps it’s Easter Sunday and all the eggs
Have been hidden for a hunt

Let’s run out and be like children
Finding ourselves with full baskets
And hidden surprises
As we say yes
No
Maybe so
Finding the golden egg,
Life itself
Today as we decide to go
