The Beginning of Endless Summer

Memorial Day

The return of the summer in southern suburbia

The beginning of months of 

Heat, 

Thunderstorms,

Cicada melodies,  

Tornado season 

And itchy bug bites. 

A day that marks the end of hibernation 

For your favorite white shorts and dresses.

A day of remembrance 

And backyard barbeques. 

The start of bright and warm nights,

Watching the neighborhood from the top of my mailbox castle.

Living the hours once spent in the classroom in the sun. 

A change in mindset.

The kickstarter to the season of 

Growth, 

Youth,

Joy, 

And even now,

Hope.
