While Los Angeles is a city known for budding actors and beach bums, it’s also a wanted destination for those looking to satisfy their epicurean desires. With little pockets of the city dedicated to various cultures and ethnicities it’s hard not to find the cuisine that you crave. But beyond the traditional restaurant experience is the unique littlemeatsLA.

littlemeatsLA brings together strangers and friends alike for a family-style Sunday Supper made by professional chefs in an effort to bridge the gap between chefs and foodies and bring the LA community closer together.

I was fortunate enough to attend one of their Sunday suppers and was treated to Korean-style ants on a log, kimchi deviled eggs and Stevie Cho’s famed 14 hour smoked brisket with a side of crispy and savory black garlic potato salad. But what stood out to me, aside from the unique and enticing dishes, was the familial vibe among not only the littlemeats staff, but also amidst the guests. Their BYOB policy encourages guests to share with those around them and their singular, long table incites conversation among neighbors.

The littlemeats team of chefs is eager to show off their specialty dishes, and bring them to you on a donation basis. As founder Robin Chang stated during the dinner, “We let people cook without having to apologize for who they are.”
