Growing up with two artistic parents, I’ve long held a respect for creatives in any field. Whether it was purposefully ingrained in me or just a byproduct of my environment (the latter, I think), I really can’t remember a time when I didn’t believe that those following their own instinctual inspiration should be affirmed and revered.

So maybe that’s why Accidente Con Flores has caught my eye. Based in Ibiza, founders Ola and Adri don’t follow trends or rush to produce seasonally-specific collections. Instead, they design, cut and stitch all of their sustainable pieces right in their own atelier using GOTS-certified organic fabrics and non-toxic inks for their screen prints (which they also do by hand).

“Our designing process is very specific and really personal,” Ola says. “My point of view as a designer has to come together with Adri’s artistic one. This creates a very emotional way of working. There is always a tension, but we feel that it makes our projects more complete in both areas.”

Their kimono-inspired jackets and shirts each display a unique art print, while their casual cotton trousers are ideal for the everyday. In addition to Accidente Con Flores’ priorities of sustainability, quality and environmental consciousness, I also simply love the story behind model Martine, who Ola and Adri selected for their recent look book shot in Antwerp.

“Our model – Martine – is the owner of famous, local ‘Cafe Bazaar’ in Antwerp and we fell in love with her from the first time we have ordered coffee in her bar,” Ola says. “She is tremendously charismatic and has a natural, radiant beauty. Our aim is to design for every kind of woman in every age and with different body type. We feel very blessed when we see our clothes make them feel comfortable and stronger.”

It’s doesn’t get cooler than that, in my opinion. I’m saving up for everything.

All of Accidente Con Flores’ designs are available in their online shop here and also in their studio on Ibiza.
