Here’s a gentle reminder: we made it.
2020’s finale is here. The year went by slow. Four seasons blended together.
2020 was a year of diving—diving deep into what I am called to do. Diving deep into my heart, not the words or opinions of others. Diving deep into clarity. Diving deep into learning. I am still breathing, even after the uncertainties of 2020.
Every year is full of growth and change, but we must choose to embrace it. The roots I have grown in 2020 may look weak, but there is strength here. In my difficult days, I grew seeds of power. I learned to embrace unplanned situations and allow them to mature my character. I figured out who is for me and who is not.
The roots I have grown in 2020 may look weak, but there is strength here.
The end of the year is not about what could have gone differently or failed expectations. We can allow 2020 to mold us or destroy us. I hope we allow it to prepare us for overflow and to become who we are meant to be in 2021—people of valor.
Even in the grief and loss in 2020, we have still grown. Our mindsets have changed. The pain of this year may not go away completely, but it will soften.
Even in the grief and loss in 2020, we have still grown.
Grieve—grieve long and hard over what has been lost this year. In 2020, I have finally found contentment in letting go of what I’ve lost. I know that when the waves take me under, I will come out stronger. I found comfort in places that were collecting dust. May all my grief overflow to help me grow stronger and, yet, softer than before.
As we step into 2021, I hope the winter breeze caresses your face ever so lightly with strength and that your heartbeat would remind you that you are worthy of living.
For the first time, make no plans or resolutions. Move forward in freedom, and allow yourself space to ride the waves that come your way. Whatever this year will be, it will be. Let’s let go of what was and of any unmet expectations.
Darling, we made it.
