skin care products

Tan skin can sometimes feel like a right of passage into summer. Having that radiant glow is all about long beach days, late bonfire nights and weekend travels to be cherished for a lifetime.

Unfortunately, what doesn’t often get invited along for those memories is proper skin care. Whether we’re beckoning the rays with baby oil (I’m totally guilty of doing that in the past) or just neglecting any coverage at all, it’s damage to our body’s largest organ. Luckily, over the years, experts have developed innovative and completely natural products to keep us healthy and lustrous — without the danger of long-lasting repercussions.

So today we’re taking a remedy from the curated, wholesome skincare portfolio of Follain. These are five products that will protect, refresh, and highlight our summer beauty.

natural sunscreen
Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30, $24
The key concept in this whole regimen is prevention. So a base of mineral sunscreen acts as that initial, protective layer to block harmful rays. It’s creamy yet lightweight without that greasy, I-just-bathed-in-olive-oil finish.

Lip CPR SPF 30, $28
Even when we’re diligent about slathering, re-applying and re-re-applying our sunscreen, one thing so often gets missed: the puckers. Lip skin is incredibly thin and therefore super susceptible to UV damage. So using a zinc oxide infused tinted lipstick not only provides protection but also adds some shimmery color that’s perfect for a relaxed day at the beach.

herbivore botanicals

After Sun Body Mist, $20
The truth is, whether or not we see some rosy cheeks or a Rudolph nose after hours in the sun, our skin still got exposure to those drying elements. So any moisture is both necessary and healthy. An after sun body mist with mint, lavender, and hazel for cooling will offer natural relief and create that long-lasting glow of hydration.

ila powder
Radiant Translucent Powder SPF, $30
Makeup routines tend to take a back seat in warmer months. Going au natural is the motto of the season. So a one-stop-shop beauty product is the clincher. And a translucent SPF powder does it all: neutralizing shine, protecting the skin, and finishing with luminescent radiance.

Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15, $26
Last but not least, this whole sun-care routine comes full circle with a pop of color and shot of moisture. Once again the hero of the day is zinc oxide. A tinted lip conditioner with that magic ingredient offers protection under the guise of a standard lipstick. So from AM to PM our face looks refreshed and on-the-go ready.

  1. Great article. I want to try the Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30, as for many years none of the sunscreen I used are gave me results. Most of them either cause irritation and some don’t prevent sunburn. Also I felt like trying natural methods and creams. Lets’ see if the mineral sunscreen works.
